The Old Low Light

The fish quay has been at the heart of North Shields life for over 900 years and the re-opening of the Old Low Light provides an exciting new opportunity to celebrate the heritage and culture of this historic area of the town. 

The Old Low Light team is interested in your views on ways that the newly restored building and its surroundings could be used for art events.  We would, therefore, be very grateful if you could spend just a few minutes to complete our short survey before 24th February 2015.

The Old Low Light is a Grade ll listed building and the oldest surviving building on North Shields Fish Quay. It began life as a lighthouse belonging to Trinity House of Newcastle which was enclosed within Clifford’s Fort in 1672.

Now given a fresh lease of life, the Old Low Light offers a wonderful venue where the story of this community can be explored by local people and visitors.

We look forward to hearing your views on what you would like to see happening at the Old Low Light and we’re very grateful for taking the time to complete this short survey.
